How it works

From first call to signed plat

Typical turnaround on a lot pinning is 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the weather. Larger or more complex surveys are quoted individually.

  1. Records research

We pull your deed, recorded plats, adjoining deeds and prior surveys at the courthouse.

  2. Field work

Our crew searches for existing monuments and measures the property with GPS and total station.

  3. Calculations and drafting

We reconcile the field measurements with the record and draw the plat.

  4. Corners set, plat delivered

Missing corners are marked with iron pins and caps, and you receive the signed and sealed plat.

Questions

Common questions

If your question isn't here, call or email and we'll talk through what you need.

How much does a survey cost?

It depends on the size and shape of the parcel, the terrain, and how much research the records need. Send us the property address and what the survey is for, and we'll give you a quote.

Do I need a survey to put up a fence?

It's strongly recommended. A boundary survey marks your corners so the fence goes on your side of the line and avoids a dispute with a neighbor.

What should I have ready when I call?

The property address or parcel number, a copy of your deed if you have it, any older surveys, and the reason you need the survey (sale, fence, building, refinance).

Will you put markers in the ground?

Yes. We locate existing corner monuments and set new iron pins with our identifying cap where corners are missing, and we can flag them so they're easy to see.
